1. What is a "ski"?A "ski" refers to one boarding / skiing session that would normally last for around fifteen minutes. During your ski if you fall, your ski is not over; the boat will come around and give you another go. Normally, a ski ends when you get tired or when your fifteen minute period is over. For most people, a ski will end due to you getting tired; it is rare that we will ask you to get out of the water due to timing.
2. How many "skis" would I normally get per day trip?Usually, two skis are enough for most people. You will likely be too tired to have another go, especially if you are not an experienced skier. Providing there is time, there is no limit on the number of ski's allowed, so if you are keen you are welcome to have three or four ski's each.
3. If I fall off am I up for another $15?No, a fall does not end a ski. See the "What is a ski" FAQ item.
4. What is the average age group of club members?LTUWWC is a university club, therefore our membership base consists mainly of students and alumni. The age range of club members is between 18 and 28.
5. Does the club run any social events? The club plans and runs several social events throughout the year. These could include the new members camp, the club trivia night, bar nights or pub nights.
6. Can I bring a friend(s)?Of course, provided you make this intention known to your trip organiser so that they can keep track of the number of people attending the trip.
7. I don't have a car, how can I get to the lake(s)?The club can help you organise car pooling, or arrange for you to travel with the towing vehicle (usually leaving from Latrobe) up to the lake. It is usually expected that you will pitch in for petrol to get up to the lake and back, this is an arrangement between your driver and yourself, and is not covered by any membership rates or fees.
8. Does the club have merchandise (such as tee-shirts or hoodies) available for purchase? We are currently out of stock of all merchandise items, however we expect to have some club merchandise available for purchase mid year.
